Your body at 9 weeks of pregnancy

Your Body at 9 Weeks
At 9 weeks into your pregnancy, significant physiological changes are underway.

While this phase may bring excitement, it's accompanied by various symptoms as your body adjusts to support the developing fetus.

Symptoms of the week
Morning sickness

Mood changes

Round ligament pain

Vaginal discharge

Visible veins

Morning sickness: A common occurrence, affecting a large portion of pregnant individuals due to hormonal increases.

Mood Fluctuations: Emotional variability may intensify, influenced by hormonal shifts.

Round Ligament Pain: A stretching sensation in the abdomen, indicative of uterine expansion.

Vaginal Discharge: An increase in discharge is normal, resulting from hormonal changes.

Visible Veins: Enhanced blood flow to support fetal development can make veins more prominent.
Your uterus is expanding, and you might start noticing subtle changes in your abdomen. Hormonal fluctuations continue.

Is it normal?
The symptoms experienced during this period are primarily driven by elevated pregnancy hormones, such as hCG and estrogen
These hormonal changes are essential for fostering a conducive environment for fetal growth but can lead to symptoms like nausea, increased vein visibility, and round ligament pain.
Increased Blood Volume: To accommodate your growing baby, your body increases blood volume, causing veins in the breasts and abdomen to expand.
Morning Sickness: Elevated hormone levels, particularly hCG, can lead to nausea and vomiting, which typically peak around this time but may persist.
Round Ligament Pain: The stretching of round ligaments supporting the uterus is a normal adjustment to fetal growth.

Talk to your doctor but I never had heartburn until I was pregnant with my son(7year old). I took and I'm taking Prilosec throughout pregnancy. I waited towards the end of pregnancy with my son and I was throwing up most evenings and wasn't gaining weight. I wish I would have asked sooner because it was miserable

My belly looks the same. I'm leaning towards baby bump. I can't wait until I have a big bump so I can wear something besides baggy shirts. (We didn't announce it yet & I feel huge) 😂

You’ll have a lot of lows I did before I had my miscarriage. Try to avoid your stomach for insulin because it always has a weird feeling after maybe you won’t feel it but I did. I tried to check my sugar more just for precaution. Try to keep your endo and obgyn connected it really helps. You got this 🫶🤍
