What foods should I try to focus on eating?

What foods should I try to focus on eating?
Congratulations on your pregnancy! This is an exciting time filled with anticipation and joy.
As you embark on this incredible journey, it's essential to prioritize your nutrition to support both your health and the development of your baby.
Here are some delicious and nutritious foods you should focus on incorporating into your diet during this special time.
Power Up with Fruits and Vegetables!
Fruits and vegetables are vital sources of vitamins, minerals, and fiber that are crucial for a healthy pregnancy.
These vibrant foods provide essential nutrients like folate, which helps prevent birth defects.
Aim to include a variety of colorful options such as spinach, kale, sweet potatoes, berries, oranges, and avocados.
These foods not only add flavor and texture to your meals but also support your immune system and help regulate digestion.
Whether you enjoy them raw, steamed, grilled, or blended into a refreshing smoothie, these nutrient powerhouses will keep you and your baby nourished.
Embrace the Mighty Whole Grains!
Whole grains are a fantastic addition to your pregnancy diet.
They are rich in complex carbohydrates, fiber, and essential nutrients like iron and B vitamins.
Opt for whole grain options such as quinoa, brown rice, oats, and whole wheat bread instead of their refined counterparts.
These wholesome choices provide sustained energy, aid in digestion, and help prevent constipation—a common issue during pregnancy.
Get creative with your meals by incorporating whole grains into delicious dishes like grain bowls, stir-fries, and hearty salads.
Protein-Packed Goodness!
Protein plays a crucial role in the growth and development of your baby, making it an essential component of your pregnancy diet.
Include lean sources of protein such as lean meats, poultry, fish, eggs, beans, lentils, and tofu in your meals.
These options are packed with important nutrients like iron, zinc, and omega-3 fatty acids.
While enjoying fish, prioritize low-mercury options like salmon, trout, and shrimp, which provide beneficial omega-3s for brain development.
Don't forget to cook your proteins thoroughly to ensure food safety.
Don't Forget Calcium-Rich Foods!
Calcium is essential for your baby's bone development and is equally important for your own bone health during pregnancy.
Incorporate calcium-rich foods like milk, yogurt, cheese, and fortified plant-based milk alternatives into your daily diet.
If you're lactose intolerant or following a vegan diet, choose calcium-fortified options made from soy, almond, or oat.
Leafy greens, such as kale and broccoli, are also great sources of calcium.
Aim for three servings of dairy or plant-based alternatives each day to meet your calcium needs.

Any advice on what I should try eating or doing? I can’t keep anything in for more than 5 minutes, or if I’m lucky enough to do after a SUPER small meal I have really bad stomach aches!

Stay hydrated and just sip slowly on some water maybe see if you can manage broth ? Have you tried preggie pops? They have vitamin b in there so between the tangy taste and the vitamin B that might help subside the nausea ... and just trying to rest and take it easy , I would say if you're super nervous about it nothing wrong with calling the on call dr/nurse/midwife hope you feel better soon!

Good morning moms 😊 I would like to start my baby purree foods, he will be 5 months tomorrow. He's able to keep his head up steady and seems interested on what I'm eating. I just want to try at least teaspoon and see how things go. Do you think it's ok to try it and how many times in a day that I can give him foods?

My almost 1 year old won't eat any food other than butter toast, I give him different foods 3 times a day and he refuses to even try them. I even offer him what I'm eating but just wants milk or crackers.

I would recommend following Solid Starts on Instagram. The founder created the company because her son was an extremely picky eats. They give a ton of advice.

I am pregnant and extra emotional and not really thinking right but I really need some advice on my 2 year old son. He hasn't been eating any real foods I have made for dinner for almost a year now. Any foods at all except for chips, popsicles, and pizza rolls. I don't know what to do to get him back on track eating dinners.

I don't usually let him eat anything other than what I make but he will literally starve himself. I never make a second meal. Can't afford that crap. Like currently I made chicken and rice and he hasn't taken a bit. Been sitting here for an hour and a half. Ridiculous

Does anyone have any suggestions on foods/ meals that are easy to make and are good for helping with milk production? I wanna try holding myself a little more accountable on eating my snacks and meals within the day, but I notice myself making the same few things and I wanna switch it up a bit.
