Taking Care of Yourself After Sex During Pregnancy

Taking Care of Yourself After Sex During Pregnancy
While the urge in desire doesn't necessarily vanish during pregnancy, it's essential to practice the right post-sex reflexes to avoid any discomfort or complications, such as a Urinary Tract Infection (UTI).
Here's a handy guide to help you enjoy intimacy while keeping both you and your baby safe.
Embrace the Power of Hydration
Staying hydrated is key to maintaining a healthy urinary system.
After lovemaking, make sure to drink a glass of water. Hydration helps to flush out bacteria from your urinary tract, reducing the risk of UTIs.
Remember, water is your best friend during this incredible journey.
A Swift Trip to the Bathroom
You might feel the urge to snuggle up after a passionate moment, but taking a quick trip to the bathroom can work wonders.
Urinating after sex helps to expel any potential bacteria that might have found their way into your urinary tract.
It's a simple step that can go a long way in preventing UTIs. Plus, it's a great opportunity for a post-intimacy bathroom selfie!
Choose Comfortable Underwear
While you might want to slip into that lacy lingerie again, opting for comfortable cotton underwear is a better choice, especially during pregnancy.
Cotton allows your skin to breathe and prevents moisture buildup, which can create an environment for bacteria to thrive.
Prioritize your comfort and opt for breathable fabrics that promote good hygiene.
Maintain a Consistent Hygiene Routine
Maintaining proper hygiene is crucial in preventing infections.
Make sure to cleanse your genital area with mild, fragrance-free soap and warm water.
Avoid harsh chemicals or strong fragrances that could disrupt your natural pH balance.
Remember, you're a goddess, and goddesses deserve gentle care!
Bonus Tip: Communication with Your Partner
Don't be shy about discussing your concerns with your partner.
They're on this journey with you, and open communication can lead to a more fulfilling and comfortable intimate experience.
Together, you can explore positions that are comfortable for you and avoid any unnecessary discomfort.
Remember, your comfort comes first!

Has anyone experienced bleeding during/after sex in early pregnancy? Not like heavy bleeding but bleeding. I am being treated now for +BV which I’ve never had before. The bleeding stops and I won’t bleed anymore, it’s just during sex.

The constant breast feeding, pumping, sleepless nights taking a care of a baby and then trying to take care of yourself isn’t easy especially for a first time mom. I’m definitely overwhelmed.

I understand your pain it’s a constant cycle of exhaustion I’m trying not to neglect myself but I would rather sleep for an hour than go get my nails done

Why is it that guys think being a mom and taking care of your children by yourself and they think it's soooo easy to be a mom or is it just me not living up to everyone's potential I feel like a terrible mom right now and I don't even know why 😭😭😭😭

Mines not so much of a worry, more like a disappointment. I saw my dad with my nieces and the bond they built was beautiful, he loved those kids like crazy and wanted me to have kids also, it just took me too long. He passed away 3 years ago and it just really upsets me to know that my daughter will never get to meet him and have the same experiences. 😓

People say “it’s all about your kid” but it’s also all about you too. Take care of YOU! Don’t loose yourself now. How can you be a good mom if you can’t even take care of yourself. Be happy , do the things you love, find yourself . A child needs a healthy, happy momma too💛

I wish I had the support so I could I lost myself in being a mom that I forgot who I was I don’t have a village only time my mom watches my kids is if it’s raining and my husband and I have to go to the store or she watches one kid so we can take the other to the dr other then that it’s all me 24/7 I don’t have a life outside of being a mom I’m not allowed to everyone including my husband tells me all the time when you have kids you can’t do anything like that and my dad always says life as you know it with kids is over why should it be why can’t I get a break and just go and do something for me for once why is it a crime for wanting some time away like go with a friend to lunch or shopping for a hr or something by myself it’s always the samething I’m lucky if I even get to take a shower I hate it because sometimes I have to wait til my husband is off work to get one and that’s Saturday and Sunday and I just need time for me and not allowed to do that . I still can’t take time to find myself again because i just can’t stop being a mom . I’m lost I don’t know who I am anymore

And it shouldn’t be like that. You matter too! Especially if youre home with the kids all the time. You should have some sort of time to yourself even if it’s just an hour to yourself after your husband comes home from work or something . To take a nice shower or bath with candles around , read a book, do something you like, get a mani pedi, or taking a drive to the beach just to get away for a bit. It sucks how people make it to be such a bad thing and make us feel so guilty for wanting to do something for ourselves for once. We need to normalize that more!🤍👏🏽
