Treatment of postpartum depression

If you think you may be experiencing postpartum depression, we have some tips on how to get through this difficult time.

  • It is important that you at least meet with your doctor or pediatrician so that they can diagnose postpartum depression
  • To help you cope, you can have a brief therapy in order to let go of your feelings and feel better
  • The doctor may supplement the therapy with antidepressants for a short time
  • If postpartum depression is treated, you will quickly regain your cheerfulness and the happiness of being with your little baby.

I've been on the same anxiety/depression meds for years after I had my oldest and it works great it's called Escitalopram long word for Lexapro. It works great honestly I'm on 20mg I really recommend it.

Postpartum depression is something I ever thought about during or even before pregnancy now that I have delivered my bundle of joy and I am home from the hospital thinking especially with the many bodily changes i can definitely say it’s hard. Have you experienced postpartum depression ? If so how are you dealing with it ?

I had it with my first 3 due to the fact that I didn’t have my ex husband with me I was doing it all alone lack of sleep in a huge factor being alone etc with my last baby which is from my current husband I didn’t get depression he was very hands on tho he would help me with feedings show me so much love and gratitude for having his baby that idk if it was that that helped me or Idk different pregnancy but that’s what I noticed. With my 1st I became 5150 I tried to kill myself i had her at 18 i had no help and I felt so lost with my other two same thing plus I was dealing with my schizophrenic ex husband that was a whole depression on it’s own I would say speak up if you feel you have it some other moms not my case but some other moms grow Resentment for the baby that’s why you see women killing their babies postpartum is no joke. I heard dehydrating your placenta for pills also can be very helpful for postpartum
