Dad's postpartum depression

It is not only women who can suffer from postpartum depression: it can also happen to men, especially if they have a history of depression.

  • Sadness, fatigue, feelings of being overwhelmed by events: just like moms, fathers can break down after the arrival of a baby.
  • Whatever the gender, the symptoms are generally the same as those of women: depression, loss of appetite, dark thoughts, and anxiety are the most significant.
  • Men who have already experienced depressive episodes are more likely than others to experience postpartum depression.

It’s so hard having insomnia, already diagnosed depression and anxiety on top of Post partum depression and anxiety…which makes for no sleep or by the time I do fall asleep the alarm goes off to wake up for work and start mommin…. Oof.

I’m dealing with PPD . It’s really affecting my daily life. The only thing that’s keeping me sane is my baby . He’s my comfort and keeps me in my right mind . My OB insisted on me going to therapy.

I don’t want anymore kids . This Post partum is so bad, I take care of my son. I make sure he eats , clothe and clean. But after all that I just feel so down and out of it. I told someone that I just can’t mentally go through another pregnancy and go through this post partum shit again. You know what they told me? “Stop using post partum as an excuse” 😭 like what?

Hang in there mama.!! I can’t imagine what you are going through right now.! Because I have had my son yet.! You are so much stronger than you know.! The fact that you are able to feed him clothe him and clean SPEAKS VOLUMES.!!! It’s females out here who don’t even do half of that.! They out here killing the damn kids because of how real postpartum is.! I pray you begin to find some peace in these next few months.! (Try) to speak positive things and say them out loud even if you don’t see them Happening at the moment even if that’s not how you are truly feeling at the moment.! And see if it helps.! I wish I could just give you a hug and help you out for atleast a week 😩🥺 to give you a mental break.! Keep your head up boo.!!💙💙💙 🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾 it will get better ❤️‍🩹 sooner than later.! It can’t stay like this forever.! Everything in life has a season.!!

How do you know if you’re going through post partum depression and not regular depression? I love my son so much but sometimes I feel like I’m failing him because I don’t know what I’m doing yet tbh. I means he’s good. I make sure he eats, his booty is dry, and he always smells good. But then it’s like I just wanna cry 🙃

That’s normal to feel sad and cry! It will get better!! If it doesn’t then reach out to your Dr ❤️ I cried for like two weeks every single day after my baby’s were born. I felt so lonely and like a failure. Do u have a partner that is able to stay home with u a while ? I had such bad separation anxiety from my partner.. he was able to stay with me for like three weeks thank god

Yeah, that's normal especially a week post partum. I didn't really cry much but I did slack off my household duties and caring for myself because I had extreme tunnel vision. All I could think about was her. Luckily, my husband kicked in and did my part and his. Thank God for him. It's good to have a support system to help with baby that way you can take some time out to care for yourself.

Being pregnant show me a lot.. Like how people will just come back when your only pregnant? or when no one want to help with you ? or No one will do anything even when your high risk ? 🤷🏻‍♀️ I just don’t be understanding , I like feel like i’m going to post partum depression already 😔
