Parental leave for the second baby

Did you know that you have the right to request parental leave to take care of your second child? Here are the terms and conditions.

• Parental leave allows the mother and/or father to temporarily stop working to raise the children.

• It is granted to both biological and adoptive parents, following the birth or arrival in the home of the second child.

• Please note that the CAF only pays the Prestation partagée d'éducation de l'enfant (PreParE) when parental leave is shared.

• The parents can share this leave for up to 3 years, with a maximum of 24 months for one parent and 12 months for the other.
