Baby’s Changes Overview
Open 3D Baby to see all changes
  • Trisomy 21 Screening: You may be offered a screening test for Trisomy 21 (Down syndrome) around this stage.

  • Fetal Movements: If this is your first pregnancy, you might need to wait a bit longer to feel your baby's movements, often described as 'flutters'.

  • Eye Development: The eyelids are closed to protect the developing eyes, which are now capable of side-to-side movement and light perception.

  • Cardiac Activity: Your baby's heart is pumping around 25 quarts of blood per day, supporting their rapid development.

  • Bone Ossification: The bones are beginning to harden through a process called mineralization, laying the foundation for a strong skeletal structure.

  • Facial Muscle Development: Tiny facial muscles are forming, allowing your baby to practice expressions like squinting and smiling.

  • Auditory Development: With the bones in the ears in place, your baby may soon be able to hear your voice, though it will sound muffled.
As your baby grows, you might start to feel their first movements, a delightful milestone in your pregnancy journey.

Helping your baby's development
  • Nutritious Diet: Focus on calcium and vitamin D-rich foods, such as dairy products, leafy greens, and fortified foods, to support bone development.

  • Adequate Rest: Ensure you're getting enough sleep to support your health and your baby's growth.

  • Omega-3 Fatty Acids: Incorporate sources of omega-3s, like low-mercury fatty fish, walnuts, chia seeds, or flaxseed, crucial for brain development.

  • Oral Health: Prioritize oral hygiene and dental checkups to prevent gum disease, which is linked to premature birth and low birth weight.

  • Prenatal Yoga: Engage in prenatal yoga to relieve stress, improve circulation, and enhance your physical comfort during pregnancy.

Your HCG is suppose to drop at like 15 weeks right, I’m 16 and got it drawn and it was 23,000 and last time it was 91,000 at 7 weeks, my baby still has a heartbeat and everything I just need reassurance

Every pregnancy is different and depends on the position of your placenta. Like mine for instance I have anterior placenta in the front and couldn’t feel anything until 30 weeks. Next time you have a ultrasound ask them about your placenta.

My last ultrasound I was 8 weeks and my tech told me I can go back at 15 weeks to find out the gender of our little bean. How accurate is it at 15 weeks. 12 weeks today and counting down the weeks until we can find out what Baby Zavala is 🥰
