  • There are different protocols to adapt the treatment to the specific needs of each woman.
  • Next comes an injection of HCG hormone.
  • Its role is to trigger ovulation in order to proceed with the puncture of the eggs which will then be put in contact with the sperm for fertilization.

I just went through my first round of IVF and have received positive pregnancy tests for the past couple day. I went for my first HCG test and it came back as 48. Is there anyone that started their IVF pregnancy with low numbers and have a healthy pregnancy?

Hi Amber I’m thinking you are really early on that’s all. My first HCG test was at 4 weeks and mine was 234. I didn’t take an at home pregnancy test til 11 days after my transfer.

How far along would I be? I have no idea how the gestational age thing works! My transfer date was Aug 9 and it was a 5 day embryo.
