Get Ready to Go to the Hospital

Get Ready to Go to the Hospital
While it's an exciting and momentous occasion, it's normal to feel a mix of emotions.
Don't worry, we've got you covered with some helpful tips to ensure you're ready when the big day arrives.
Let's dive in and get you prepared!
Pack Your Hospital Bag
One of the first things you'll want to do is pack your hospital bag.
This will ensure you have everything you need for your stay and make your experience more comfortable.
Here are some essentials to include:
  • Comfy clothes and pajamas
  • Toiletries and personal care items
  • Nursing bras and breastfeeding supplies
  • Snacks and drinks for energy
  • Entertainment items like books or a tablet
Remember to pack a going-home outfit for yourself and your baby.
Choose something comfortable and easy to put on as you'll want to focus on your little one rather than fussing over complicated outfits.
Plan Your Route and Transportation
Knowing how to get to the hospital and having a transportation plan in place is crucial.
Keep these tips in mind:
  • Research the best route to the hospital, considering traffic patterns and potential road closures.
  • Have a backup plan in case your primary mode of transportation falls through. It's always better to be prepared.
  • If you're taking a car, install the car seat beforehand and ensure it's properly secured. Practice buckling and unbuckling it to become familiar with the process.
Familiarize Yourself with the Labor Process
Understanding the stages of labor and what to expect can help alleviate any anxiety you may have. Here's a quick overview:
  • Early labor: This is the initial phase when contractions begin and the cervix starts to dilate. It can last several hours or even days.
  • Active labor: During this stage, contractions become stronger, longer, and more frequent. Your cervix continues to dilate, and you'll likely feel intense pressure and discomfort.
  • Transition: The final phase before pushing, where contractions peak in intensity and frequency. It's a challenging but short stage.
  • Pushing and delivery: The stage where you'll actively push your baby out. Your healthcare provider will guide you through this process.
Knowing these stages can help you stay calm and informed as you progress through your labor journey.
Remember, every labor experience is unique, so trust in your body and the support of your healthcare team.
Stay Calm and Relax
As your due date approaches, it's important to take care of yourself and find moments of relaxation. Consider the following:
  • Practice deep breathing exercises and relaxation techniques to help manage labor pain and reduce stress.
  • Engage in activities that bring you joy and help you unwind, such as meditation, prenatal yoga, or taking soothing baths.
  • Surround yourself with a supportive network of friends, family, or a doula who can provide emotional support during this exciting time.

Baby Auroras wubbanub finally came in the mail. Their diaper bag is officially packed and ready for the hospital. We only have a few small things to do and two big things left to do before time to go to the hospital to welcome these sweet girls into our lives 💖💖💖

My oldest did too. It was the only thing she would take when she was a baby so I knew I wanted one for both of my twins 💖
