Get Healthy Before Your Baby Arrives

Get Healthy Before Your Baby Arrives
Preparing for the arrival of your little one involves taking care of yourself too!
Now is a perfect time to focus on your own health and well-being, so you can be in top shape to welcome your bundle of joy.
Here are some essential steps to get healthy before your baby arrives:
Kick the Smoking Habit
If you're a smoker, consider this an opportunity to quit and embrace a healthier lifestyle for you and your baby.
Smoking during pregnancy has been linked to an increased risk of congenital heart defects in newborns.
Seek support from your healthcare provider or support groups to help you quit successfully. Your baby will thank you for it!
Nourish Your Body with Healthy Eating
Pregnancy and new parenthood can be demanding, so fueling your body with nutritious food is vital.
Evaluate your eating habits and make healthy swaps to ensure you and your baby get the essential nutrients you both need.
Add more fiber-rich and immune-boosting foods to your meals, such as fruits, vegetables, whole grains, and lean proteins.
A well-balanced diet will keep you energized for those long days and nights ahead!
Schedule an Annual Physical
It's essential to prioritize your health by scheduling an annual physical with your family doctor or internist.
Regular check-ups will help monitor your health and address any potential concerns.
During your visit, discuss your pregnancy plans and get personalized advice on how to stay healthy throughout this exciting journey.
Stay Up-to-Date on Vaccinations
Protect yourself and your baby by ensuring you're up-to-date on all your vaccinations.
One crucial vaccine during pregnancy is the whooping cough vaccine, which helps protect your newborn during the early months when their immune system is still developing.
Talk to your healthcare provider to make sure you've received all the necessary vaccinations for a healthy pregnancy.
Embrace a Healthy Lifestyle
Aside from quitting smoking and adopting a balanced diet, incorporate other healthy habits into your lifestyle.
Stay physically active through safe and suitable exercises, like prenatal yoga or walking.
Adequate rest and sleep are essential for a healthy pregnancy, so prioritize getting enough restful sleep each night.
A well-rounded approach to health will benefit both you and your baby.
Final Thoughts
Taking care of yourself is an act of love that extends to your baby.
By making conscious efforts to get healthy before your baby arrives, you're setting the stage for a happy and healthy start to parenthood.
Quitting smoking, eating well, staying on top of vaccinations, and embracing a healthy lifestyle are all essential steps toward a positive pregnancy journey.
Remember, every little change you make contributes to the well-being of both you and your baby.
So, celebrate this special time, nurture your health, and get ready to welcome your little one with open arms and a radiant smile!

Anyone’s husband giving you the silent treatment before the baby arrives? We’re having our baby tomorrow and he looks bothered and quiet. I’m not sure if it’s the nerves but he’s annoying 😩😂 #39weeks

Maybe his nerves. Guys process things differently and I'm sure he's probably feeling stressed and overwhelmed a bit! Just give him time! ❤️

My doctor suggested taking Unisom SleepTabs. I've been taking those and within like 30 minutes of taking them, I'm knocked out for the night.

MFM appointment tomorrow. Gonna see what my new dose of insulin will look like. I also wonder if they’ll do a BBP. I’d love one more look at baby girl before she arrives. NST on Friday and then induction next Wednesday 🥺

Definitely understandable. I’m in the same boat. Do what you can. If people want to help let them. Also take advantage of any resources in your area. It will all come together ❤️

Think about what is healthy and best for you and your baby because at the end of the day children rely on you they didn't ask to be here rather it's stress or mental emotions you have to find a way to get all that in line before your next child is born

One thing about nesting, you’ll scrub the paint off the walls 🤣 the shine off the floors 🤣 the fabric off the baby clothes 🤣 everything has to be CLEAN AND PERFECT before your Angel arrives 👼🙏🏽
