Feeling Overwhelmed During Postpartum: Our Tips

Feeling Overwhelmed During Postpartum: Our Tips
Becoming a new mom is a life-changing experience, and it's normal to feel overwhelmed as you navigate the challenges of motherhood.
Here are some strategies to help you feel better and manage stress during this new phase of your life:
  1. Limit Visits From Friends and Family: Give yourself time to recover from childbirth and focus on caring for your baby. Don't hesitate to politely ask friends and family to wait before visiting until you feel ready.
  2. Ask Visitors to Pitch In: Your loved ones genuinely want to help, so don't be afraid to ask for assistance with household chores or running errands. Let them lend a hand while you take care of yourself and your baby.
  3. Make Meals Easier: Cooking can be challenging with a newborn, so consider signing up for a meal delivery service to ease the burden of meal planning and grocery shopping.
  4. Simplify Your Routine: Embrace a simpler daily routine that prioritizes your baby's needs. Focus on the essentials and find ways to still do things that make you feel like yourself, such as wearing light makeup or styling your hair.
  5. Find Your Tribe: Seek support from other new moms who can relate to what you're going through. Join online or in-person support groups to share experiences and seek advice.
  6. Relax Your Housecleaning Standards: It's okay to let go of perfection and focus on a clean, safe environment rather than an immaculate home. Simplify by storing unnecessary baby items and embracing a more relaxed approach to housekeeping.
  7. Make Time to Exercise: Once your healthcare provider clears you for exercise, take advantage of the benefits of walking with your baby in a carrier. Consider gyms with childcare options to continue your fitness routine.
  8. Know the Signs of Being Overwhelmed: Understand that feeling overwhelmed is common and seek professional help if you experience persistent feelings of stress or sadness. Postpartum depression is more common than you might think, and it's essential to address it early.

Alright ladies, I'm currently almost 3 1/2 months postpartum and starting to really have a tough time. I feel like I want to cry at times, I'm so irritable and get very overwhelmed. I know one of my issues lately is I feel really down about how I look after after having a baby. My oldest son goes back to school soon and I really want to start going on walks and finding other ways to lose weight while I'm home during the day. I was wondering if anyone had some tips and tricks for good at home workouts to start off with? #bodyissues #feelingdown #workouts

Any tips on bowel movements after birth? So far just gas. I tore pretty bad so I’m a little nervous about the stitches coming out. #stitches #afterbirth #postpartum #tips #babyishere #perinealtear

Wouldn't hurt to incorporate a daily stool softener for at least the first few weeks. Look up high fiber diet or constipation diet online and it should provide you with a list of foods that help naturally as well. Biggest advice is don't push or try to force anything out cause that can just lead to worse problems.

Sooooo.... I had postpartum depression after I had my daughter 3 years ago, I am currently 28weeks pregnant and I'm feeling these same type of symptoms is it possible to get that during pregnancy? It took me almost 2 years with my daughter to get back to myself. I'm trying so hard to not let myself feel so down and overwhelmed 😭

I've been reading about placenta encapsulation and heard it's good to reduce potential post partum depression.
