Fear of caesarean section: how to overcome it?

If there is a common fear among all future mothers, it is the fear of a cesarean section!

  • This surgical procedure, however common, has the power of giving us nightmares...
  • So, how can you tame it to approach it in a calm way?
  • First of all, you should know that nowadays it's one of the most well-controlled surgeries and that the risks are minimal.
  • If you are afraid of scars, you should know that progress has been made and that scars will not prevent you from wearing your favorite bikini at the beach!
  • As for meeting your baby, unless there is a major problem, it will happen from the very first moments of life, just like a vaginal delivery.

If you get induced it doesn't necessarily mean you'll need a c section, it just means that their starting labor as they don't want you to go full term (40wks) or they don't want the baby to be too big for your uterus, so the baby can pass through. I get induced November 24th and that's because I am pregnant with twins and the doctor doesn't want them staying in the full 40wks. As bad things could happen then... and their job is to keep the baby and you safe and alive

Hi mamas! I am currently 21 weeks pregnant and was just told that I have marginal placenta previa. I am deathly afraid to have a c section. Did any of you have this? Did the placenta move on it’s own or did you need a cesarean? If you are the praying type, please pray for me. Lots of love!

currently in the battle of this. midwives tell me yes. MFM is saying no. it will correct itself. just continue pelvic rest. recheck around 28-32 weeks. 93% of marginal shift and there’s no issues! even full previas shift. don’t worry !! it’ll be ok!

I’m so sorry you are dealing with this too! I’ve heard statistically they move more often than not. I am hopeful that it will. I get checked again at 27 weeks and again at 32 if it hasn’t. I’m praying yours moves as well!

My husband just triggered my anger so bad 🤣 I have been so scared my entire pregnancy and he knows I don’t do well with pain 😫 and I just told him I’m scared again because we are a week away from my third trimester, and he had the audacity to tell me to get a cesarean knowing my huge fear of surgery and told me to just deal with it 😬🙄

I'm still having abdominal discomfort. When I went to my 2 week follow up with my midwife and mentioned it. She thinks it might be some swelling going on from my pants but I don't know

They did try to lead to a cesarean but I stood my ground in decisions best for me and baby #3 was a successful VBAC

This pregnancy will be my 3rd c-section I'm feeling good about it because the 2nd one I recovered fast. But don't overthink it mom. We moms always worry when it gets close to time. You got this ❤️ pray & everything will be just fine❤️
