Delivery with spatulas

If your delivery is a little complicated, only the obstetrician can use spatulas to guide the baby.

• The doctor uses them if they see that you are getting really tired or that the baby's heart is slowing down.
• Your baby must already be in your pelvis to use spatulas.
• Spatulas are used to handle the baby's head, not to pull it.
• They are used to make your baby's head thinner, as it's still very soft.
• They are placed on both sides of the baby's head and accompany the contractions you will feel.
