The relationship between a mother and her son can sometimes be complex. We'll explain why.

  • Having a baby boy is an unknown because you can't use your own relationship with your mother as a model.
  • That's why moms tend to be more protective of their sons.
  • Your son may later blame you for being overprotective and a conflict may arise between the two of you.
  • To have a harmonious relationship with your son, try to find the right balance: be available, but let him develop his autonomy.
  • You shouldn't be afraid that he will experience a few failures: this will help him to grow up.

Is anyone else having problems with there toxic mother in law? I’m only 16 and she always had a problem with me. Her and her husband are very controlling and it really stresses me out, they want me and my baby to live with them after I told my boyfriend constantly that I don’t want to and gave him multiple reasons why but he says it’s not fair to him. It stresses me out so much because I hate conflict and I’m worried about the future. Any advice?

I cannot relate but you aren’t forced to do anything you don’t want to do! And the father should respect any of any decision you make. It is a privilege to be apart of YOUR child’s life. You should able to be comfortable and if that’s not with them then you shouldn’t have to move in with them. Especially if they don’t like you. They could end up controlling.🤷🏽‍♀️
