Beginning of Fetal Movement

Beginning of Fetal Movement
In the tenth week of your pregnancy, you may experience an incredible moment—the beginning of fetal movement.
The Significance of Fetal Movement
Fetal movement is a milestone that signifies your baby's growing strength and responsiveness.
  • Muscle Development: By week 10, your baby's muscles are becoming more developed, allowing for movement.
  • Sensory Perception: Fetal movements may also be a response to sensory stimuli.
Onset of Fetal Movement
During this week, you may notice subtle signs of your baby's movement.
  • Fluttering Sensation: Some expectant mothers describe the feeling as gentle fluttering in the lower abdomen.
  • Repetitive Movements: Fetal movements can vary, from small twitches to repetitive motions.
Early Movements
These initial movements are an essential part of your baby's development.
  • Practice: Fetal movements serve as practice for your baby's developing muscles and coordination.
  • Amniotic Fluid: The amniotic fluid provides a cushioned environment for these early movements.
Challenges in Fetal Movement
Fetal movement typically follows a regular pattern, but variations can occur.
  • Position: The position of the placenta and baby can affect how and when you feel movements.
  • Subtle Early Movements: Early movements may be subtle and easily missed.
Week 10 marks an incredible moment in your pregnancy journey as you may begin to feel the early movements of your growing baby.
These movements are a testament to your baby's developing strength and responsiveness.

I spent 6 hours in labor and delivery with active labor contraction yesterday. Keep in mind I went in because of decreased fetal movement. I wasn’t even contacting enough to feel them. Said I was contacting and checked me and that just started a wholeeee new string. they checked me twice in the beginning that was all. 2cm and a little over 50%. It’s at least something but got sent home and have no relief.🤦🏻‍♀️ I’m in so muchhh painnn!!!!

Today I had decreased fetal movement at 24 weeks and 4 days, I go to Triage and the baby is perfectly fine, fluid normal. I'm wondering if it has to do with taking magnesium and unisom before bed. Has anyone had a similar experience?

26 weeks pregnant. How often should you feel fetal movement? Is it still inconsistent?

I don’t even count kicks anymore because my baby moves so much and if he doesn’t it’s usually cause he tired himself out.

20 minutes isn't a ton of time. Relax lay on your side and see if baby moves in an hour. The ER is crazy these days, lots of sick ppl. Take a Tylenol, fluids and relax a bit

I haven’t felt my baby yet and I’m going on 16 weeks . This is my second pregnancy so the doctor told me it can take a little longer sometimes but that’s understandable I would get a Doppler I been thinking about getting one myself so you can always listen to the babies heart beat 🥹🥰
