Has anyone experienced the hook effect where they never received a positive blood or urine pregnancy test? If so, how did you learn you were pregnant?

I have a question about blood testing… The first time they took 5 tubes of blood, so they take 5 tubes of blood EVERYtime you need to get blood test done? Also, how many times out of pregnancy do you get bloodwork done?
